About

Early one morning, I sat drinking my coffee and reading as I often do and a question popped into my head, “Why not?”. We had just come back from our third summer of traveling around in our RV for a month or so and were in talks to possibly sell the business we had built over the past six years. No one every really wanted to come home from our summer trips and we weren’t loving our experience with public school education. What was stopping us from turning our summer into an extended trip to see the entire country while we could homeschool the kids and they still wanted to hand with us? Why not?!?

So, we upgraded the camper, downsized the house and jumped in with both feet. Will it work – we’ll find out!

In the spring of 2023, my husband and I were fortunate enough to sell a company we’d spent the last six years building. This, coupled with his retirement income from the military, gave us a lot of freedom. Three years prior to the sale, following the global pandemic, I had already separated and started working for another remote-based accounting firm. We had discovered the importance of de-risking our personal finances from the business. After the sale, we decided he would stay home and I would continue to grow my career. What we didn’t know right off, is that our plans would change drastically with one very simple questions “why not?”.

We loved to travel. We were struggling with some things in the public education system. We needed a new project. We never really wanted to return after our summer-long RV trips. Why not take the family on the road for a couple of years? Why not?

Shortly after we hopped into our adventure, I found out that I didn’t have the freedom I craved to really live how I wanted and it was limiting us on our travels. So, why not create that possibility by starting my own venture again and leave my current job. Why not?

Here I’ll share my discoveries of what I learn on our travels – both the successes and the failures. Want to follow along?
